Mikko Vahtola appointed Managing Director of Karelian Trains

M.Sc. (Econ.) Mikko Vahtola (45) has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Oy Karelian Trains Ltd from 15 August 2011. He has previously held various management assignments with Outotec Group in e.g. Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Ali Huttunen who worked as part-time Managing Director of Karelian Trains continues as full-time head of VR Engineering.

Oy Karelian Trains Ltd is a joint venture rolling stock company owned by VR Group and OAO RZD (Russian Railways) and owns the Allegro trains operating between Helsinki and St. Petersburg.
